The opening of Chattanooga’s Ruth’s Chris restaurant is nearing.
Leaders haven’t announced the official date yet, but there is a private grand opening event June 28, and the restaurant’s website says the steakhouse will open in July.
The restaurant is part of a development that is at least a $75 million investment and includes an Embassy Suites hotel; the restaurant; and 60-plus acres of living, shopping and recreation space, according to Nooga.com archives.
Leaders broke ground on the development, which is off Shallowford Road, in April 2012; and the hotel’s website said the hotel is set to open in the second quarter of 2013.
The development is headed up by brothers Ken and Byron DeFoor.
The hotel and restaurant investment is $36 million, and it took the DeFoors about four years to get the money to finance the project, according to archives.
Last year, leaders projected that the project would bring about 100 jobs to the area.
In January, leaders of Embassy Suites announced their plans to grow the business’ portfolio by 25 percent over the next three years to reach 300 properties in the Americas, according to a news release.
The living, shopping and recreation space is called Waterside; and according to the development’s website, it’s scheduled for completion this spring.
